The weather is getting hotter and hotter every day, which means parents like me are always on the hunt for an outdoor activity. If it's free, then that's just an added bonus.

In the past few years, I feel like splash pads have been popping up everywhere, which is awesome because kids naturally love getting soaked, and it's hours of outdoor fun for free.

So, where can you find (in my opinion) the coolest splash pads in Northern Colorado? Let's break it down by city.

What makes a good splash pad?

For me, the best splash pads have plenty of seating for parents. It's basic but oh so important to someone like me. A tired parent.

Best splash pad in Fort Collins

Our go-to favorite splash pad has to be the one in Old Town Fort Collins. Not only is there ample seating, but it's close to coffee, wine, and food. Everybody wins!

Best splash pad in Timnath

Only a few years old, the Timnath community park splash pad is perfect for all kids, but it's extra perfect for tiny tots. The water pressure is low, so your toddler won't get blasted into space, and it's an adorable flower theme.

Best splash pad in Windsor

Spring Canyon Park offers kiddos a fun play area with water tables, a splash zone, and a full playground, perfect for even the most hyper kids.

Best splash pad in Loveland

The splash pad at the Loveland Sports Park is one of our favorites because the area is huge. Whether you have one kid or ten, they'll absolutely love this water area. You can also bring scooters and bikes to cruise around.

Best splash pad in Greeley

Discovery Park has Greeley's largest water attraction, with a killer splash pad, slides, and a shallow spray zone for younger kids.

So be sure to check out all the splash pads in Northern Colorado for a fun, free activity.
