Ever fantasized about driving your dream car down the streets of your neighborhood? Or maybe you want to impress a date on Friday night with a fancy ride to dinner at a restaurant. Since most of us aren't actually lucky enough to own a luxury vehicle, a new national car rental service called Turo, is making it possible to at least drive one for a few days.

Similar to how sites such as Airbnb and VRBO work, Turo provides an online platform where people can rent out vehicles for personal use. For safety purposes, there is an in-depth process for rental that includes an instantaneous background check and proof of insurance.

Turo gives travelers an alternative option to traditional car rental companies. Plus, it can potentially save time and money while on vacation. The renal service could also be handy for scenarios when someone's car is in the shop.

Another benefit of Turo is that it's available everywhere, not just at the airport like many standard car rental companies are. Many renters are willing to meet the customer at a convenient, desired location to hand over the keys.

Colorado car owners can also generate extra income by posting their cars for rent. Owners who opt to rent out their car can choose how many miles they offer, what age a driver needs to be, and how many days they are willing to lend their vehicle.

The service offers luxury vehicles, electric vehicles, standard cars, family-friendly SUVS, larger vehicles like cargo vans. Users can filter by categories, including makes, models, and even sunroofs.

In the Fort Collins area alone, there are more than 200 vehicles available to rent via Turo - ranging from as low as $41 a day to a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van at $590 a day. There's even an exclusive 2024 Tesla Cybertruck listed as an option. Land Rovers, Escalades, and Corvettes are also available to rent in the Front Range region.
