Pueblo Inmate Tries Escaping With Just Two Days Left
KRDO13 reports that Lucas Brown escaped from the Pueblo County Jail on April 24. Brown worked in the jail's kitchen, taking out the trash. He saw an opportunity to escape, and he took it.
Lucas Brown’s Escape Lasted Only 35 Minutes
His escape was short-lived. He escaped prison for 35 minutes before he was caught.

Lucas Brown was serving a 90-day sentence for a misdemeanor. Brown only had two days left on his sentence when he tried to flee the Pueblo County Jail.

Pueblo Officials Respond to the Attempted Escape
Pueblo County Sheriff’s Captain Dawn Ballas spoke about the incident and mentioned how strange it was. Captain Ballas praised the teamwork between deputies and Pueblo Police for responding quickly and capturing the inmate.
...Our detention deputies did a great job of quickly securing the other trustees in the jail and notifying the communications center. Their swift actions allowed our patrol deputies and Pueblo Police to respond quickly, set up a perimeter, and apprehend this suspect without incident...
We imagine Lucas Brown is going to be serving quite a bit of extra time for his actions.
There is no word on how much extra time he will serve for trying to escape from the Pueblo County Jail.
