I am a frequent flyer who lives in Northern Colorado. I am a big fan of Denver International Airport, however, I have to tell you that there are times when I hate driving to DIA.

On my drive home going north on I-25, I always drive by the Northern Colorado Regional Airport. I usually mutter to myself that life would be so much easier if there commercial flights from the airport again.

Well, my dream, and many other Northern Colorado's dreams might be coming true because the Northern Colorado Regional Airport has been making some major upgrades.

Northern Colorado Regional Airport Upgrades

The Northern Colorado Regional Airport (FNL) will host a grand opening event on November 7 and they will be debuting and showing their new terminal. The grand opening will have family-friendly activities, food trucks, and live music.

The event will happen at their new terminal in Loveland, Colorado.

According to Yahoo, this project began last summer and cost a total of $22 million. Northern Colorado Regional Airport has also named a new director, John Kinney.

Additionally, other projects would need to take place to have commercial airlines to return to FNL.

According to Northern Colorado Region Airport's most recent master plan, a major goal is to have FNL return be a commercial airport again. Their report says that when FNL was a commercial airline, they had the most passengers in 2012 until Allegiant decided to discontinue their service.

The number of people that traveled through FNL dramatically dropped and they no longer offered commercial service after 2017.

We hope this new terminal is a sign that commercial flights are going to return to Northern Colorado.

Proposed Greeley West Side Project and Eagles Hockey Arena Vision

The city of Greeley and Water Valley Company are exploring a public-private partnership to develop a community in west Greeley that would include an arena that would house the Colorado Eagles at the center of an entertainment and transportation hub.

The phased development could ultimately grow to 5,000 acres, one of Northern Colorado's largest developments. Below are some pictures. Here's the whole story.
