LATEST: 3 Students in Critical Condition After School Shooting in Jefferson County
At least three minors are in critical condition after a school shooting took place in Jefferson County, Colorado on Wednesday afternoon (September 10th, 2025).
Press Conference Confirms Details of Jefferson County Shooting
In a press conference at around 2:30 PM, Jacki Kelley, the Public Information Officer for Jefferson County confirmed some information.
Where the Incident Happened
The incident took place on school grounds at Evergreen High School, which is 67 miles from the Denver International Airport.

Victims Transported to Nearby Trauma Center St. Anthony's
All three of those injured were taken to St. Anthony’s hospital in Lakewood, which is approximately 20 miles from the school and is the closest level one trauma center to the school.
Timeline of the Shooting Response
Kelley confirmed that law enforcement received the first of many calls at approximately 12:24 PM. First responders appeared on the scene minutes after that initial call.
The identity, gender, ages of the three students has not been revealed yet (4:00 PM).
It is believed a fourth person was taken to the hospital in connection with the incident.
However, officials confirmed that one of the hospitalized students is the suspected shooter.
We do know that Evergreen went into lockdown. Students and their families started being reunified at Bergen Meadow Elementary at around 3:00 PM.
Jefferson County Law Enforcement Confirms No Ongoing Threat
Officials confirmed that there is no longer any danger in the area. The investigation continues on and law enforcement are working to get a search warrant for the suspect's home.
Governor Jared Polis issued the following statement, according to Denver7.
“I am closely monitoring the situation at Evergreen High School, and am getting live updates. State Troopers are supporting local law enforcement in responding to this situation. Students should be able to attend school safely and without fear across our state and nation.
