Could Coloradans See Lower Utility Bills This Winter?
One of the biggest costs in the wintertime in Colorado is the utility bill. Most furnaces in the state of Colorado operate on natural gas. When the temperatures drop outside, the use of natural gas increases in the home. There is nothing we can do about Mother Nature being frigid in the winter, we just have to deal with it.
A lot of Colorado residents struggle with the cost versus comfort factor when the temperatures dip in the winter. The good news is that you may see a decrease in your utility bill this winter.
According to BizWest, Xcel Energy plans to reduce natural gas bills in the fourth quarter of 2024. Xcel Energy has requested approval from the Colorado Public Utilities Commission to lower the cost of natural gas usage for customers in the last months of the year.
