I’ve Never Felt So Privileged To Be Employed

I've been in the radio industry for over 15 years. I was fortunate enough to find a career right out of high school that I was passionate about. I have the privilege every morning of coming into a heated studio, listening to the music that I love, and getting creative with fun things and important topics that could truly impact my listeners. It's not something that I take lightly when working in radio you're taught early on that every day could be your last, so make it count.

I've had more fun at work than anyone ever should, I have been able to meet and hug some of my favorite musicians. I've been lucky enough to help my wife meet her favorite musical artist of all time.

More importantly, I have been able to make an impact on our community. The days when we get to do something positive in our hometown, those are the best days being on the radio.

I'm typing all of this today because I have seen dozens of my friends and family members lose their jobs over the past few weeks due to something that was completely out of their control. While none of us saw this pandemic coming, it has opened my eyes to not take things for granted.

Whether I am fortunate enough to be on the radio for 40 more years, or 40 more days, one thing is for sure, I will not take one day in the studio for granted. It's is my absolute pleasure to get my morning started with you on the radio. And, if you're still employed throughout all this craziness, I hope you appreciate your job, too. We all know many people without jobs that would switch places with us immediately.
