October is a great month to clean out and inventory medications in your medicine cabinet so you can prepare for the cold and flu season this winter. The Grand Junction Police Department can help dispose of medicines you don't want to keep.

Many people have medications that are expired, no longer necessary or left over from a prior illness or injury.

The Grand Junction Police Department makes disposal of those medications simple and safe with a day people can turn in the medications they want and need to get rid of.

On October 22 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. the Grand Junction Police Department at 555 Ute Avenue will gather those medications and dispose of them at no cost.

The Police Department encourages people to bring prescription and over the counter capsules and tablets. They are unable to accept liquid medications or sharps at this collection but can offer information about the proper disposal of those items.
