Hundreds of Coloradans Apply for Unemployment Amid Government Shutdown
As the government shutdown reaches its 18th day, federal workers in Colorado have begun to feel the pain of unemployment.
9News reported today that "out of the around 50,000 federal workers impacted by the partial government shutdown in Colorado, 625 of them have filed for unemployment."
The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment is working hard to handle the claims as the volume is so high, and it could take up to 6 weeks after their claim date for federal workers to see any of the money they applied for.
