It's possible that none of realize how many days of our lives we have wasted doing nothing but watching images on a little black box in our living room. When you see the numbers, it could possibly be extremely alarming.

Think about one of your favorite shows. For example let's take The Office. The show was on the air for 9 seasons. If you watched every episode of this show one time it means you have spent 3 days, 11 hours, and 44 minutes of your life just watching this one show.

Now let's take one of my favorite shows, American Idol. I've been watching since the season finale of season #1, which means 12 years of Idol. If I have watched every episode, (and for the sake of discussion, discount the possibility of DVR and fast forwarding through commercials) that means I have spent more than 18 days of my life watching this show.

How do I know this? Thanks to a website called tii.me, you can  calculate for yourself how much television you are watching - and have watched over the years

You simply type in the name of the show, and the number of seasons you have watched it, and the website calculates the time. Enter another show and it keeps a running total.

You will be amazed as the days and hours pile up. It makes a person stop and think about all the productive things one could have done over the years in place of sitting in front of the boob-tube for literally days on end. It's no wonder our butt cheeks are sore.
