High winds blowing through the Grand Junction area Tuesday afternoon (June 17) created a number of problems across the Grand Valley including a power line that snapped, silencing KOOL 107.9 for over two hours.

This video, provided by KOOL 107.9 chief engineer Mike Shafer, shows the broken power line swinging loose from the pole and transformer it was attached to.

It's estimated the winds were blowing 60-70 miles per hour when this video was taken.

A Grand Valley Power crew was dispatched to repair the broken line and power was restored at approximately 7:10 p.m.
