Weekend Update: Early Morning Crash Sends One to Hospital
One young man ended up in the hospital after he attempted to run from police and crashed his vehicle.
Early Sunday (Aug. 28) morning around 3:30 a.m., Mesa County Sheriff's deputies, along with the Grand Junction Fire Department and the Clifton Fire Protection Agency, worked to free a 23-year-old man from a wrecked pickup truck.
The driver was in the area of 30 and D Roads when he was contacted by deputies. The driver attempted to flee when he crashed into a street pole at a high rate of speed. The driver -- who was alone in the vehicle -- was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The driver was driving on a canceled/denied driver's license, had stolen plates on his truck and alcohol is considered to be a factor.
Two lessons here, don't drink and drive and don't run from the cops.
