A downtown Grand Junction restaurant will reopen Thursday, January 21, after a two-week closure.

You've probably noticed a handful of area businesses have announced temporary closures. With the holidays behind us, some feel this is the perfect time to offer the staff and management a chance to take a break and recharge.

Le Rouge at 317 Main Street has been closed since Thursday, January 7. On that date they posted the following on Facebook:

We are sorry for any inconvenience but we decided that it is a good time for us to take a winter break, as the season is slow.

On Monday evening, January 18, Le Rouge announced on Facebook they would be reopening to the public on Thursday, January 21, 2021.

I must admit, it has been a while since I've been to Le Rouge. I used to love to visit the venue to listen to jazz with Dennis and Michelle and Walt Smith. Between the music and the ambience, I found it a fantastic place to hang out.

Just last Saturday, January 16, another downtown Grand Junction restaurant, Las Marias at 118 S. 7th, announced via Facebook they would be closing for two weeks.

We are closing tomorrow at 3p, then taking two weeks off. Reopening at 7am on February 2nd. Thank you for your support!

I think a trip to Le Rouge is in order. As I recall, their wine is fantastic. It's great to see them open again. Here's wishing them the best.
