This is a story you don't like hearing. A member of the law enforcement community was arrested for intentionally damaging property belonging to his former girlfriend, also a member of law enforcement.

I guess we need to remember cops are people too. They have the same emotions as the rest of us. But should they be held to a higher standard because they uphold the law and aren't above the law?

Gage Wright, an eight-year veteran of the Grand Junction Police Department was arrested without incident for intentionally damaging property that belonged to his former girlfriend and her husband.

The former girlfriend is a 911 dispatch operator for the Grand Junction Police Department and her current husband is a Mesa County Sheriff's Office Deputy.

Wright was booked into jail and was placed on administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of the investigation.

Of course, always remember, no matter who is arrested, all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
