Did you know the city of Grand Junction picks up over 10,000 cubic yards of leaves every year? Get rid of those unwanted leaves by participating in the Annual Leaf Removal Program.

By participating in the Annual Leaf Removal Program, you can get your leaves picked up and help keep the city's stormwater drainage system clear. The removal of excess leaves assists to prevent the clogging of stormwater inlets, which in turn prevents flooding.

There is no need to sign up for the program. Starting this week, and continuing through December, you'll see street sweepers throughout Grand Junction collecting leaves. To have your leaves picked up, place them in the street in front of your house, 18 inches away from the curb.  Gutters need to be left clear so water can still flow freely. For pickup dates in your neighborhood, click the link below.

For those who prefer to bag their leaves, you can drop off your leaves at the City Municipal Services Center at 333 West Avenue between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the following dates:

  • November 16
  • December 13
  • December 14
