The Goodwill Store in Grand Junction is one of 11 stores in Colorado affected by a data theft in which credit card users' personal information was compromised.

According to CBS Denver,  Goodwill says customer information was stolen from some 300 stores in 19 states. Six stores in Colorado Springs were affected as well as the stores in Canon City, Fountain, Pueblo, Woodland Park, and Grand Junction.

The good news is there have been very few reports of fraud linked to the credit card number theft. It's not known if any of the reports of fraud came from Colorado. The security lapse is being blamed on a contractors payment processing system.

There doesn't seem to be a need for panic, but if you shopped at the Grand Junction Goodwill this summer and used a credit card, you would be wise to watch your credit activity very closely and be on the lookout for suspicious transactions.
