Grand Junction Fire Department Has Two Test Positive for COVID-19

It's not exactly good news, but we got the word from the Grand Junction Fire Department that two of their personnel have now tested positive for COVID-19. The two first responders quickly identified their symptoms and are now in self-quarantine and will not be reporting to duty until all symptoms are gone.

All Grand Junction firefighters are continuing to monitor daily for all symptoms and tracking any possible symptoms prior to reporting for duty. These cases have been notified to Mesa County Public Health for possible tracing and exposure notifications.

While these two tests are alarming, rest assured that nothing will change with the level of service you will receive from our Grand Junction Fire Department. They will continue to work with Mesa County Public Health to monitor the situation and communicate any changes.

Both the community and the media will be notified if any changes to their operations are made, but nothing is expected at this time. Obviously, this could change if additional cases come back positive from other personnel.
