What better way to get into the Christmas spirit than a horse-drawn carriage ride through downtown Grand Junction? To top it off, the price comes in at the low, low cost of FREE. Are you up for it?

This Friday, December 9, make your way downtown for free carriage rides, live music and entertainment, all courtesy of your Grand Junction downtown merchants. The Spirit of Christmas Celebration kicks off at 5 p.m. and continues through 9 p.m.

In addition to the carriage rides courtesy of JR's Carriage Service, you can enjoy performances from:

  • CMU vocal arts ensembles (three different groups)
  • Bookcliff Barbershop Harmony Chorus
  • Grand Junction High School Choir
  • First Congregational Church Handbell Ringers
  • Heart Haven String Quartet
  • Lincoln Orchard Mesa Elementary School Choir

The Grand Junction Fire Department will also be on hand collecting toys for Toys For Tots.

You won't find a whole lot of anything free this Christmas season, so don't let this event pass you by. Make plans to join your friends and neighbors downtown this Friday.
