Perfect Family Event

This summer movie series really is a great way to spend time with friends and family. Each Friday night the GPVFD offers a different movie. They're always "family-friendly."

Before the Movie

The concession stand opens on Fridays at 5:30. Items available for purchase include:

  • soft drinks
  • water
  • coffee
  • hot chocolate
  • candy
  • popcorn
  • nachos
  • chips
  • home-baked items

The grill opens at 6 p.m. and remains open until the movie starts. Very important: The grill and concession stand are what generate funds for the volunteer fire department. The movie is free. With that in mind, please do not bring outside food or drink. In addition, alcohol consumption is not allowed.

Entertainment Before the Entertainment

Before the movie begins, enjoy live local entertainment, volleyball, door prizes, corn hole, and a hayride.

Items to Bring

Bring your own lawn chairs. Even though it is hot during the day, the mountain air can get a little chilly after sunset. Bring warm clothes and/or blankets.

Something You Probably Didn't Know

Dogs and cats are allowed at the movie, so long as they are on leashes.

Check Out the New Parking Lot

To find the event, take DS Road and head west past the Glade Park Store. In years past you would park along the road. No longer! Check out the awesome parking lot. You'll find it just off the main road west of the fire department building.

This is a fun local event. When it's all said and done it generates funds for the Glade Park Volunteer Fire Department. This is a win-win for everyone involved. The drive is roughly 30 minutes from downtown Grand Junction, so plan for a little travel time. The movie is free, so please visit the grill and concession stand.
