Federal, state and local law enforcement arrested nine accused child predators in a sting operation recently in Glenwood Springs.

Posts were created online by Homeland Security in places where child predators are known to advertise.

Through several days, nine individuals contacted the agents and allegedly talked about the price to purchase sex with children. Once they showed up to have sex with the child they were arrested.

Community leaders are pleased they were able to remove the nine people they were able to get but the fact that these types of operations are even necessary is sad in itself.

Most of those arrested are from Garfield County and are in custody in Glenwood Springs. The Sherrif's office also stated that those arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The shock comes from the fact that most people don't even realize things like this are going on in their communities. These arrests show they not only do but more often than most realize.
