In a year that has been so difficult for many people, it's tremendous to see signs of kindness like the community garden that was recently set up at a hardware store in Fruita. According to KJCT, It's the True Value store located at 1690 Highway 6 & 50 and they are just looking out for people in the area.

The garden is taken care of by True Value employees and the vegetables that were being grown got to be too much so they decided to set up a vegetable cart inside of their store where people are allowed to take any of the fresh produce for free. Obviously, this has been a big hit with all the customers coming into the store.

The vegetable cart is not only filled with items from the garden but employees are often putting fruit and vegetables onto the cart from their own homes and gardens. The store's goal is to give to customers but they also encourage customers who have an abundance of fruit or vegetables to replace items they take, but this is not required. Anyone who is in need of food is highly encouraged to stop by and take advantage of the items available.

If you need a small bag to collect items available from the vegetable cart you can ask an employee at a check out stand and they would be happy to get one for you. The cart with free items is located at the entrance of the store and if you cannot locate it you can ask an employee for help.
