Fort Collins Teacher Recovering After Being Stabbed in Her Home
Eilish Poe is a third grade teacher in Fort Collins who, in early November, was allegedly stabbed by her ex-partner, as reported by Fox 31 News.
In a quote to Fox 31 Denver, Poe is described as a "ray of sunshine" who "makes everyone around her happy and joyful." As such, it sounds like she's a cross between Mary Poppins and Zooey Deschanel.
Poe's ex, Jonathan Crossley, stabbed her while she was in her home, and his body was later recovered in Lory State Park and ruled as a suicide.
Poe recently had surgery and is recovering from her injuries. Hundreds of community members have rallied behind her with a GoFundMe page to pay for her medical bills.
My heart breaks when I hear a story like this. I love the way the Fort Collins community is showing up to support its members.
Interpersonal violence and domestic abuse are not to be taken lightly and we wish Poe a very speedy recovery.
