Former Grand Junction Football Player Has New NFL Team
Former Central High School football standout Ben Garland has a new NFL home.
After four years with the Atlanta Falcons and a Super Bowl appearance, Garland (#63) will be switching coasts, signing a one-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers. He was a free agent and able to sign with any team.
Garland, after playing high school football at Central in Grand Junction, played college football at Air Force before signing with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent. Garland has appeared in 54 NFL games since 2014 with 7 starts.
The 31-year-old Garland played defensive line in college but has mostly appeared as an offensive lineman in the NFL.
