Thursday nights in downtown Grand Junction are always great with the Farmers Market, but this Thursday (Sept. 11) will be special because it is First Responders Night.

In recognition of the anniversary of 9/11, departments from across the Grand Valley will be in attendance at the Farmers Market. Emergency vehicles will be on display on 6th Street, just north of Main.

The Grand Junction Fire Department will be offering "Sidewalk CPR" training,  plus they'll be asking for "Fill the Boot" donations for Muscular Dystrophy, and there  will be other kid-friendly activities.

At 8:00pm, with emergency truck lights flashing, there will be a moment of silence in observance of 9/11.

Entertainment  at the Farmers Market this week includes Flat Top Reed -  4th and Main; Destinee Reed- 5th and Main; Mike Gazdak  - 6th and Main; Sweet Adelines  6th and Main (7-7:30pm); and Manny Toro  - 7th and Main.

As always, you'll find a ton of fresh produce, and several great vendors. It's a terrific place to hang out with the family.
