Were you late for work today? If so, don't feel bad. A survey released by CareerBuilder found 13% of employees admitted to being late to work at least once a week. Here are five excuses a Grand Junction resident could use to try and get out of trouble when showing up late for work.

I was stuck at the stop light for five cycles because the lead car was oblivious to the fact the arrow was green.

Well, that's my list. What about the national list? These ten excuses are not necessarily the top ten, but they did make the list. According to the survey, traditional excuses such as "traffic" and "oversleeping" comprise the bulk of the responses. Stuck in traffic accounted for 53% of the excuses, followed by oversleeping at 33%.
