Ever Wonder How Trail Ridge Road Gets Plowed? [PHOTOS]
What is it like to plow snow off of the highest paved road in the United States? Obviously, a lot of work.
The National Park Service shared photos with us showing what it's like to start getting the snow off Trail Ridge Road (at over 12,000 feet) so that it can open for the summer, and, well, it's a ton of snow. (Like, how do they even know where the road is?)
'Park plow operators normally encounter drifts from 18 to 22 feet and are accustomed to plowing the same section of road over and over,' RMNP Public Affairs officer Kyle Patterson said.
Here's a glimpse into what the snow removal process is, and it's pretty incredible.
