On Tuesday, October 14th at 7:30 pm, the CMU Jazz Ensemble and Combos will present their first concert of the 2014-15 season. The smaller jazz combos will perform original compositions written by students in the group. The larger group, the jazz ensemble, will perform "Hay Burner" by Sammy Nestico as performed by the Count Basie Orchestra, a song from funk group Tower of Power entitled "Soul Vaccination," "Send in the Clowns" by Stephen Sondheim, an arrangement of Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun," and a Latin powerhouse tune entitled "Señor Mouse" by jazz pianist Chick Corea. The groups are under the direction of Darin Kamstra and Sean Flanigan.
