Have you ever taken the opportunity to enjoy a rainy day on the Grand Mesa? Last Sunday morning saw rain showers in several towns on the Mesa.  While in Collbran on Sunday, I paid a visit to downtown and nearby creek. It was really something to see.

For the record, we're talking about a light, steady rain, not a torrential downpour. Last Sunday's showers were nothing short of perfect.

My Sunday morning involved a drive up to Collbran, followed by Mesa, then Powderhorn, and finally Mesa Lakes. Every location saw its share of rain.

Collbran is always a great place to visit. A little rain, though, is the icing on the cake.

Sunday morning's rain caused the Plateau Creek to run a little high. The trail which follows the creek through town was shut down to pedestrians. As you can see in the video above, the creek was starting to overflow its bank in a few places.

Further down the mountain, the creek was getting a bit rough. A few people in kayaks were taking full advantage of the situation.

Don't miss an opportunity to head up on the Grand Mesa. If you can scrounge up an early Sunday morning, take the opportunity to enjoy a pleasant drive up to Collbran.
