There is common opinion e-cigarettes are safer than tobacco. In some ways that is correct. But, vaping is more dangerous that many think, especially for your lungs.

Since there have been numerous studies about the health effects of nicotine in e-cigarettes, Harvard School of Public Health decided to study what other health concerns there could be from vaping.

What they discovered is a respiratory disease that causes irreversible scarring in the air sacs in the lungs that is known as 'Popcorn Lung'. Some of the symptoms are shortness of breath and excessive coughing.

The cause of the disease comes from Diacetyl and other flavoring chemicals used in e-cigarettes. That's right, what makes e-cigs taste so good appears to be damaging your lungs.

So, next time someone tells you vaping is safe, reply by saying Popcorn! - a very polite way of saying BS.
