The deadline for returning ballots is drawing near for the 2015 Grand Junction municipal election.

Voters have until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7 to get their ballots turned in to be counted in this year's election. Ballots can be dropped off at the following locations.

On the ballots are two measures and two contested races for city council.

Referred Measure 2A  would restore authority to the city of Grand Junction to provide high-speed internet and cable television service, working directly or indirectly with public or private sector partnerships.

Referred Measure 2B would allow the city's debt  for transportation projects to increase by more than $14 million. Specifically, the measure relates to construction and improvement costs of the Westside Beltway which includes 25 Road from I-70B/Highway 6 & 50 to F 1/2 Road, F1/2 Road to 24 Road, and 24 Road from Patterson to the I-70 interchange.

The two contested city council races feature Chris Kennedy and Dennis J. Simpson for a 4-year term, and Kim Kerk and Rick Taggart for a 2-year term. Both are at-large seats.

So, far, about 25% of active, registered voters have turned in ballots. More than 1000 ballots have been returned undeliverable.
