Due Nov. 18, the Paul McCartney tribute album 'The Art of McCartney' collects more than 40 covers of songs originally recorded by the former Beatle, including a new version of the classic 'Let It Be' performed by Pretenders leader Chrissie Hynde.

Hynde's take on the song now has its own lyric video, which you can sample at the top of this post. It's just the latest in a series of sneak peeks from the 'Art of McCartney' box, starting with Alice Cooper's cover of 'Eleanor Rigby' and followed by a whole slew of previews, including Brian Wilson performing 'Wanderlust,' Heart's recording of 'Band on the Run,' Roger Daltrey tackling 'Helter Skelter' and Def Leppard contributing their version of 'Helen Wheels.'

"She's one of the best female rock stars of all time, as far as I'm concerned," explained producer Ralph Sall. "I also knew she had a history with McCartney, and I thought it would be something that she would like to do."

As previously reported, 'The Art of McCartney' is a longtime passion project for Sall, who rounded up a truly impressive list of performers for the tribute, with Kiss, Bob Dylan, Steve Miller, Billy Joel and Sammy Hagar just a few of the artists joining the contributors already mentioned. The set, available for pre-order now, will be offered in a variety of configurations, including a deluxe box, triple-gatefold vinyl, CD and digital.
