Colorado Woman Rescues Children

A woman, now identified as 23-year-old Dusti Talavera, was watching from her window when the incident occurred. Without a second thought, Dusti ran outside and didn't hesitate to risk her own life to save the lives of the children who fell in.

Dusti was able to successfully pull two children out of the water, but when attempting to reach the third child, she, unfortunately, fell in.

Dusti struggled to keep the child's head and her own above water, but luckily a teenager was able to toss a rope to the pair and pulled them to safety.

Children's Condition Currently

The first two children pulled out of the pond are in stable condition. The third child, a 6-year-old girl was unresponsive when pulled out of the icy water.

Deputies on the scene immediately began administering CPR and attached an automated external defibrillator (AED) to the child. Once South Metro Fire Rescue (SMFR) arrived on the scene, they were able to take over.

The young girl began breathing, but unfortunately, it was deemed "ineffective breathing."

Medics rushed the child to the hospital and while originally she was reported in stable condition, the most recent update states that she is in serious condition currently and has been transferred to Denver Health Medical Center.
