It's not a secret to anyone that part of the fun of watching on Super Bowl Sunday is to check out the hilarious commercials that are on while the game is in timeout. According to WXYZ, this will be the first time in 37 years that Budweiser will not be promoting their brand during the game. Taking the same stance as other beverage giants Coke and Pepsi as they will all refocus their efforts in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

The announcement was made on Monday, and this video was released to the public:

Budweiser specifically announced working with the Ad Council and COVID Collaborative in hopes of safely bringing people back together again soon.

As you can expect there was a mixed reaction to this announcement with many people applauding the efforts of Anheuser Busch, and others wanting anything political to be left out of beer sales and advertising.

I will admit that I will miss all of these huge companies not putting on hilarious ads that we end up talking about just as much as the game itself.

But the game is set, Super Bowl 55 is taking place on Sunday, February 7th at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida where the Chiefs will take on the Buccaneers. The kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. and it should be a great game with two tremendous teams playing for the championship this year. This Super Bowl game is the first in history with a team playing in their home stadium (Buccaneers), as the location is decided years in advance.
