Today (August 25) is a special day for game show enthusiasts as long-time "Let's Make A Deal" host Monty Hall celebrates his 94th birthday.

Monty Hall was the co-creator of "Let's Make A Deal" and hosted the popular game show for 23 years. Contestants on the "trading floor" would have a chance to win cash and prizes by wheeling and dealing with the deal-making host.

The popularity and longevity of the show was due in large part to the fact that Monty Hall was so personable and likeable. And he apparently was that way off camera as well, marrying his distance cousin, Marilyn Plottel in 1947 and remaining married to her to this day.

Hall received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1973, and in 2007 was one of the first inductees into the American TV Game Show Hall of Fame in Las Vegas. Hall was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2013 Daytime Emmy's.

Monty Hall is a television and game show legend who has given us some great memories, and set the standard for game show hosts for years to come.
