The good news for the Denver Broncos in the off-season was the signing of QB Peyton Manning. But the news has been all bad this week for Denver fans. First they lose starting guard Chris Kuper for at least 6 weeks due to a fractured arm. Then it was starting defensive end Jason Hunter who suffered a torn tricep and is expected to be out for two months--and maybe longer.

The news gets worse. Jurors have convicted Denver Broncos linebacker D.J. Williams of driving while ability-impaired. Jurors reached their verdict yesterday after a trial that lasted less than a day. He was arrested for drunken driven in November 2010 after police stopped him for driving without headlights. Williams also faces a six-game suspension for failing an off-season drug test.

We figured the defense wouldn't have to be super-fantastic with Peyton Manning leading the offense and putting a ton of points on the scoreboard, but if the Broncos keep losing starters, it could become impossible for even Manning to score enough points to get wins for the Broncos.

We could sure use some GOOD news. Maybe it will come Saturday night when the Broncos take on the Seattle Seahawks Saturday night.
