Do you enjoy camping? Do you like camping even better when it's free? An awesome site provides info to free camping sites all over the country. Here are five right out of Western Colorado.

The website freecampsites.net allows you to search for free camping areas by state or city. I thought I would search "Colorado." The page quickly pulled up dozens of free campsites in the state, many in Western Colorado.

In addition to the location of the campsites, the webpage also offers a list of amenities, services, current weather, GPS coordinates, and reviews. Information varies drastically from one campsite to the next. In addition, not all camping locations are those from which dreams are made. This webpage pulls locations such as "Walmart parking lot" and "Acorn gas station." User discretion is advised.

To give you an idea of what the site offers, here are five results for free camping in Western Colorado.

    25 Road in Grand Junction

3 out of 5 stars based on 30 reviews

BLM site in Grand Junction Colorado right below the Bookcliff Mountains. The site is located about 5 miles north of town. When you come to the dirt road continue another mile until you see a large brown sign and multiple pull-offs. There are miles and miles of dirt bike and off-road trails. Camping is allowed anywhere in on the BLM land. There are a few sites with fire rings already made.
Many people come here on the weekends to ride dirt bikes and ATVs. People also come here to target practice, we were not bothered at all by the people shooting but did notice a ton of trash left behind. A lot of broken beer bottles and gun shells in the large pull of areas. There is an airport about 5 miles away so you will hear airplanes regularly.
Other than the trash it was a very nice place to camp and especially nice if you like to mountain bike or have any off-road toys.

BLM Land northwest of grand junction. It looks like it receives quite a bit of OHV usage.

    Whitewater Trail Head

5 out of 5 stars based on 4 reviews

An entrance to a trailhead. There are no "no" signs and this is actually BLM land (I looked it up). It's a small gravel parking lot. There are no facilities here. I don't imagine you could stay there for more than a day or two. It's technically not a campsite but you can park here and not be bothered. I stayed for two nights. Hikers come by in the morning sometimes but they don't bother anyone. Both AT&T and Verizon with [sic] good here. I picked up some trash because people are jerks. No broken glass that I could find.
