Actors Adam West and Burt Ward, who played superheroes Batman and Robin in the original television series will return to their roles as the caped crusaders in 2016.

But, wait, Bat-fans. It's not exactly what you think. Or maybe it is.

At age 86 and 69, respectively, West and Ward are probably a bit too old to be jumping into the Bat Mobile, sliding down the Bat Pole, or engaging in a fisticuff with the Joker's fiendish goons. So, what gives?

In a video on MadMonster.com, Ward made the announcement that he and West will be doing the voices for a brand new, Batman & Robin full-length animated feature film. The 2016 release  of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will mark the 50th anniversary of the television series that debuted in January of 1966.

Ward, who played the Boy Wonder, Robin, in the series, said there may be two upcoming animated feature films, but for sure there will be at least one.
