A Grand Junction Concert That’s All Going to the Dogs
A concert this weekend is all going to the dogs. Ok, and cats, too. Dogs should absolutely bring their humans to the show. They'll enjoy the music.
The concert is a dog-friendly show and is being held as a fundraiser for the Roice-Hurst Humane Society. There will also be dogs available for adoption at the concert, so if you don't have a dog you can attend with, adopt one so you're set for this show and all the fun you'll have with your new friend in the future.
The concert features the Zac Grant Trio and if the name sounds familiar, Zac is also a member of the very popular band Zolopht. The concert is on Sunday, May 20 at the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and show starts at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the gate. Well behaved dogs on a leash and children are free. Please don't leash the kids, though. Purchase advance tickets before May 18 from the Roice-Hurst Humane Society at 362 28 Road or through the Roice-Hurst website.
Food and beverage will be available at the show for an additional charge so don't worry about eating ahead of time. Do bring some of your dog's favorite food or snacks. It's much healthier for your pooch than human food.
Since this is also an adoption event, here are some of the dogs you can adopt right now or might see at the concert Sunday night.
Ozone
4-Year-Old Terrier, Pit Bull MixOzone is a head-strong dog who will need an equally head-strong owner. With consistency in obedience and training, he'll do just fine. He's already good on a leash and has good manners. Ozone is full of energy and would do extremely well with a very active family
Casey
11-Year-Old Chihuahua, Short Coat MixCasey is a senior dog who needs a quiet loving home. If you love lapdogs, he's a perfect size and has the ideal personality to be just that. Casey has a heart murmur so a medical consult will be required before adoption so you'll be able to properly care for him.
Tobin
3-Year-Old Terrier, American Pit Bull MixTobin is a high-energy dog that loves to run and play. A very active family with older children would be ideal. Tobin loves the outdoors, so he's ready for as much adventure as you are.
