70s Throwback: Chillin’ at the Holiday Inn in Grand Junction
Here's a throwback from the 70s, it's a postcard of the Holiday Inn in Grand Junction. Take a look at what it was like to be chillin' at the Holiday Inn.
We're throwing it back about 40-50 years, all the way back to 1970s here in Grand Junction. We found a postcard from the 70s and we just had to share it with you.
This postcard is of the Holiday Inn in the 70s Grand junction, right by the Grand Junction airport. Cue the 'chillin' at the Holiday Inn' song by Chingy. This postcard just screams 70s.
You can clearly see how the Holiday Inn used blue, orange, and yellow curtains to portray a 70s color scheme. According to the Historical Photos of Fruita & Western Colorado's Facebook, the back of the postcard said:
Holiday Inn of America located on I-70 at Airport exit, 5 minutes from the All-America City Grand Junction, Colorado. Near the Colorado National Monument. Near airport, free transportation, 100 rooms - meeting rooms to 200 persons. Free reservation service.
The photos were taken by Mike Roberts and the postcard was made by Sebring's Transmountain Views, according to the Historical Photos of Fruita & Western Colorado's Facebook.
There is still a Holiday Inn by the airport in Grand Junction, but it looks a whole lot different now over 40 years later.
Above is what the Holiday Inn in Grand Junction looks like now and below is the postcard of the Holiday Inn in the 70s.
