As preparations are being made for the 40th anniversary of 'Hello Kitty,'  the shocking revelation the famous character is not a cat has this young girl furious.

Almost everyone has been under the impression that since 'Hello Kitty' looks like a cat she must be a cat. Almost everyone, except Sanrio the company that owns and manufactures the famous character.

In an article published in the Los Angeles Times, Hello Kitty creator Sanrio set the record straight saying the character is actually a little girl named Kitty White and she has a twin sister. Her parents are George and Mary White.

Another interesting fact about 'Hello Kitty' is she is a perpetual third grader, lives in the UK and has a pet cat named 'Charmmy Kitty.'
