World Series Most Valuable Player Curt Schilling has been announced as the guest speaker for the 2016 Junior College World Series Banquet.

Schilling was in the 1986 JUCO World Series as a member of Yavapai College (Arizona) and went on to play 20 seasons in the Major Leagues.

In a release from JUCO World Series Chairmen Jamie Hamilton, Schilling says he remembers everything about the trip to Grand Junction."That was one of the top four or five teams I was ever on in my life and one of the top experiences of my life as well,"

Currently, a baseball analyst for ESPN, Schilling pitched for five major league teams including World Series appearances with Philadelphia, Boston, and in 2001 with the Arizona when he was named Most Valuable Player. Schilling boasts an 11-2 post season record, a 216-146 career record, and recorded 3,116 career strikeouts.

The 2016 JUCO Banquet will be held May 27 at Two Rivers Convention Center in Grand Junction. Ticket information for the banquet will be announced in the spring.
