In case you haven't heard, the Miami Heat are on the cusp of making history.

In the 1971-72 NBA season, the Los Angeles Lakers won 33 games in a row. They had some major talent on that team—Jerry West, Elgin Baylor and Wilt Chamberlain, to name a few—and the streak has never been in serious jeopardy.

Until now.

The Miami Heat won their 27th straight game on Monday night, 108-94 over the Orlando Magic. Their next six games are against the Bulls, the Hornets, the Spurs, the Knicks, the Bobcats and the 76ers. If they can win all six of those, then they would go for their record 34th straight win at home against the Bucks on April 9.
