There is one thing we can expect this summer in Grand Junction the temperature will reach 100-degrees or higher several times between now and Labor Day. The question is, when will the first of those triple-digit days occur? Now we know.

According to Weather Underground, these are the dates over the last 10 years the temperature in Grand Junction reached at least 100-degrees for the first time of the year.

A poll started in June showed 35% thought the first 100 degree day would be in July. Most of the rest picked days in June. Historically, the odds were slightly better for a 100 degree day in June than July. Here are the results from the original poll.

According to the National Weather Service, the the temperature in Grand Junction on Sunday afternoon peaked briefly at 100 degrees making July 6 the first 100 degree day of the year.
