There are countless numbers of breakfast cereal options on store shelves, but across the nation there are four cereals that outshine the rest - at least in terms of popularity. Which is Colorado's breakfast cereal of choice?

The folks at movoto.com did some research and identified the most popular breakfast cereals by state. As it turns out, the four most popular cereals across the country aren't necessarily the best selling.

The cereal that claims favorite status in the most states, including Colorado, is Special K. The other leading cereals based on preference are Frosted Mini-Wheats, Fruit Loops, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. It's not surprising that Special K is the favorite cereal in Colorado considering the fact that Colorado is considered to be one of the healthier states in the country.

When we look at the best-selling cereals in 2013, the list looks a lot different. Is your favorite on the list?

1. Honey Nut Cheerios
2.Frosted Flakes
3.Honey Bunches of Oats
4.Cheerios
5.Cinnamon Toast Crunch
6.Special K
7.Frosted Mini Wheats
8.Lucky Charms
9.Fruit Loops
10.Raisin Bran

I grew up on Cheerios, but now my cereal of choice is Honey Bunches of Oats. Of course, that cereal didn't even exist back then. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like we have a million more choices than we did 40 years ago. Is it really necessary to have so many options?
