The organization Help Hospitalized Veterans (HHV) will present one lucky Western Colorado veteran with a specially modified 26-inch, 18-speed bicycle, at a reception this Friday.

This specially equipped tricycle was provided to the HHV program by an anonymous donor. The donor's personal experience with overcoming challenges with the use of a similar bike motivated him to provide another vet with similar opportunities.

The bike will be presented at a reception at the Help Hospitalized Veterans Community-Based Arts and Crafts Center at 1670 North Avenue in Grand Junction. The winner of the bike will be determined by a random drawing from nominations made by service organizations from Western Colorado. Those organizations include the Vet Center, RSVP, Mind Springs Health, Colorado State Veterans Home in Rifle, Welcome Home Montrose, and the Center for Independence.

In addition to the presentation of the bike, HHV will host an opening reception featuring artworks from Jerry McClaskey. The reception and presentation will get underway this Friday, February 12, at 2:30 pm.
