Several Western Colorado bands, sound engineers, and promoters will gather this Sunday, October 16, to show the love for Bad Bob Walker, an internationally known Blues artist who calls Grand Junction home.

"Bad" Bobby Walker has toured the world and released many an album. Through it all, though, he's called Grand Junction and Mesa College his home. Earlier this year, Bad Bob was diagnosed with throat cancer, and is presently about midway through his treatments.

It goes without saying medical costs have accumulated and are only getting higher. Several local bands and solo artists will join forces to present a show to raise funds to assist Bad Bob with his medical expenses.

Check out this lineup! This is a Who's Who of Western Colorado Rock N' Rollers. Here's what's in store for you if you make your way to the historic Avalon Theatre this Sunday from 4 pm to 10 pm:

  • Hoodoo HEDZ
  • Soul Habit
  • Boogie Chillin'
  • Tuesday Blues
  • Troy Douglas Band
  • Gerry Goodman and John Brown
  • Tony Rosario
  • Steve "Sarge" Smith
  • Larry Caskey
  • Destinee Reed

If the caliber of the acts weren't already more than enough reason to go, check out the sound guys. Snob Productions will be handling the production. This is already shaping up to be one of the biggest music events of the year.

Are you wondering how much all of this will cost? There's even more good news - there's no admission charge! Your cost to get into the Avalon is simply a donation.

Special kudos go out to the sponsors of this event: Hart Music, Charlie Dwellington's, A Taste of Heaven Catering, and The Ale House.

If you've been around the valley for long you already know who Bad Bob is. You can't attend a festival where he isn't a featured act. Chances are you have some of his albums in your CD rack. Don't miss this fantastic show for a remarkable guy. See you at the Avalon this Sunday.
