FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi is considered a legend by many soccer fans, so it should come as no surprise he would be willing to take on the challenge of kicking a soccer ball over a suspended bar 18 meters (59 feet) in the air and then field it when it came back down.

Messi attempted the challenge on the Japanese television show titled 'Lifting High 18m'. In setting the record, he thrust the ball not once, but twice over the bar suspended by two cranes never letting the ball hit the ground.

Messi is familiar with record setting, being the first player in history to win four FIFA/Ballons d'Or, all won consecutively. He's also the only player to top score in four Champions League Seasons. Add to that the record breaking five hat-tricks scored in the competition and it's no wonder he makes this high kick look easy.
