The 2015 Grand Junction Southwest Arbor Fest is looking for chili and salsa chefs to compete in their annual cooking competition happening on Saturday, April 18 at Lincoln Park. Bring out your best chili and your hottest, or maybe mild, salsa for your chance to win cash prizes.

The annual Southwest Arbor Fest offers something for the entire family and is considered the first outdoor festival of the season.

Not only will there be the chili and salsa competition, there is also a "last man, or woman, standing" jalapeno eating contest, events for the Kids, lots of great food and drinks to enjoy.

Don't forget to check out live music by local artists Jack + Jill, The Conifer, and Toaster.

I almost forgot to mention the best part, the Colorado Craft Beer Expo with lots of local and regional breweries to try out.

If you want to try your hand at the chili competition, download the form and return it to Grand Junction Parks and Recreation. There is one class for the chilli cook-off, but three classes for your salsa. Enter the Controlled Burn, Smoldering or Wildfire division, depending on just how hot your salsa is.

It's only $15.00 to enter the contests, but, the winner gets a $100 cash prize for each division.
