Cows are doing more than just providing meat and dairy products for American consumers, they are now heating our homes - 3000 homes in Vermont to be exact.

According to Green Mountain Power in Vermont, one cow produces 30 gallons of manure a day. Are you kidding me?? Then  you consider the 1000 cows on each of the 16 dairy farms in the program, and  you are talking about a boat load of crap - which also means a lot of methane gas.

Methane gas can be used to create electricity, and it's quite a process to convert the manure to methane, and ultimately create electricity. Now, if we could just get these cows to give chocolate milk!

Check out this video to learn about this innovative process of converting manure to methane.
