Valentine’s Day is Main Theme for Grand Junction Events February 14-16

New exhibit “Western Slope Heritage Rendezvous – Treasures of the Community” on display at the Museum of the West. Cost is $6.50 for adults, $5.50 for seniors, $3.75 for children (3-12) or $20 for family groups up to 6 members.

Colorado Mesa University's baseball team will play Dixie State at Suplizio Field. General admission is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors (60+) and students. Children ages 6 and under are free with adult.

Palisade High School’s boys and girls basketball teams (JV and varsity) will play Eagle Valley at Palisade High School.

Rivals Central High and Fruita Monument will compete against each other in boys and girls basketball (JV and varsity) at Fruita Monument, girls JV at 4:00 p.m., boys JV also at 4:00 p.m., girls varsity at 5:30 p.m., and boys varsity at 7:00 p.m.

Gun Show by JC Productions at Mesa County Fairgrounds Community Building. Admission is $5 per adult.

Colorado Mesa University's men's and women's basketball teams will play New Mexico Highlands University on Friday and Western New Mexico on Saturday at Brownson Arena. General admission is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors (60+) and students. Children ages 6 and under are free with adult.

Celebrate Valentine's Day in a new and fun way with Adagio Dance Academy's Date Night Dance. There will be a 30-45 minute dance lesson starting at 7:30 followed by dancing the night away with your sweetheart. In an adjoining room, a Kids Movie Night starting at 6:30. Drop off children an hour before Date Night Dance so you enjoy dinner downtown before coming to Date Night Dance. Admission is $20 per couple for Date Night Dance, $10 per child for Kids Movie Night.

Future Healthcare Professionals Students are hosting a Chocolate Wonderland at Western Colorado Community College Bishop Health Building. Tickets are $15 per person, $25 per couple, and $50 for a family (up to 5). Considered a chocolate lover's paradise.

Smooth Jazz Productions presents Sax & Guitars, featuring guitarist Steve Williams and Collin Reese and saxophonist Randy DeHerrera. General seating is $5, stageside seating is $10. Cash bar available. Tickets are available at Back Porch Music, J.B. Hart Music, or at Taste of Heaven Catering.

The Western Slope Concert Series will present Ben Dekock & Friends in concert at First United Methodist Church. Everything you ever wanted to know about the bass fiddle! Ben will take everyone on an exploration of the bass repertoire that will journey through classical and popular music. A Valentine’s Dance for adults 55 and older presented by the Beacon Senior News and Hilltop Senior Living Communities. Live band and dancing with Cark Gaults’ Swing City Express. Enjoy a wine bar and hors d’oeuvres. Advance tickets are $15 per person and $30 per couple. Tickets at the door are $20 per person and $35 per couple.

Dance lesson offered from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. for the Rumba “The Dance of Love.”

Proceeds from the carnival go to various projects and organizations in the community.

Join the Theater Project every Saturday at 2:00 p.m. for theater performances made just for kids at Creative Avenues. Adult actors will delight and entertain young audiences with the MAGIC OF LIVE THEATER. The shows run approximately 30 to 45 minutes and a perfect introduction to theater for kids. After every performance, stick around and have a Q&A session with the cast of characters. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for kids (available at the door). No advanced reservations are required, but seating is limited. Box office and house opens at 1:30 p.m. each week.

Live Celtic/Old Time music by Consternation with fiddler Sue Sternberg from Moab. Dances taught and cued by Ron Young.

Cost is $10 per person or $15 per couple. Kids under 12 are free. The dance is the first in a series of events in Palisade that celebrate the town’s 110th anniversary. Tickets are available from the Palisade Chamber of Commerce, 319 South Main Street in Palisade.
